CANiK, Sets Its Sights on Gulf Countries with World Defense Show
CANiK and its affiliates, Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) group companies, have initiated steps to include Gulf countries in their export route. Attending the World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia between 4 and 8 February, SYS and its group companies showcased their latest products designed to meet their export targets. Receiving high praise from participants, the group companies CANiK, AEI Systems, and UNIROBOTICS conducted numerous meetings aimed at establishing new partnerships and accessing new export markets in the Gulf countries.
CANiK and its group companies made a strategic move to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to add to their export successes. In 2023, CANiK increased its exports by 75 percent in dollar terms, reaching $133 million, and added Gulf countries to its export route. Attending the World Defense Show (WDS) in Riyadh for the first time, SYS Group companies received high praise from participants for the products they showcased.
“We Will Continue to Have a Say in the World with Our Exports”
SYS General Manager Cahit Utku Aral made the following comments regarding the fair: “Together with CANiK and all our group companies, we proudly continue to showcase our innovative products, each incorporating advanced technologies, across four continents. We plan to further elevate our exports, which already reach 70 countries across four continents, with the addition of Saudi Arabia. Especially in these days, which are extremely strategic for the global defense industry, our country has clearly stated its policy by participating at a high level in this fair. In 2022, we incorporated AEI Systems into our structure, entering the medium-caliber gun market and becoming one of the three companies worldwide that produce 30x113 mm medium-caliber guns. Today, we have once again seen how important our 30x113 mm medium-caliber guns, VENOM and VENOM LR, are for modern world armies. Here, along with our entire product family, we have gained significant interest and approval from the Gulf countries. In Turkey’s second century, we will continue to advance our country further and maintain our influence globally through our exports.’
Heavy Machine Gun Family Displayed for the First Time
At the WDS, CANiK presented its renowned and combat-proven heavy machine gun family, including the CANiK M2 QCB and its higher rate-of-fire versions CANiK M2F and CANiK M3, to the Gulf countries for the first time. The low-recoil 30x113 mm medium caliber cannon VENOM LR, produced by SYS subsidiary AEI Systems, is in high demand across the world, and enjoyed great attention at the fair. The national remote-controlled stabilized weapon system (RCWS) family TRAKON, a high-tech product from SYS company UNIROBOTICS, also mesmerized the participants. SYS hosted numerous delegations at its stand, signing many preliminary agreements throughout the fair.
