CANiK: Revolutionizing the Brazilian Arms Market
CANiK, a company founded in Türkiye in 1997, has made a name for itself in the Brazilian arms market with its revolutionary products. Known internationally for its quality and innovation in armaments, CANiK took a significant step in 2022 by establishing its commercial representation in Brazil and participating in one of the country’s largest shooting and armaments events, the SHOT FAIR in Santa Catarina.
CANiK’s presence at this event was remarkable. Its products were praised for their precision, reliability, and innovative design, and the company consolidated its position in the Brazilian market and also piqued the interest of authorities and Public Security forces for the acquisition of its products for tactical operators nationwide.
Still not fully known in Brazil, CANiK partnered with the Brazilian Arms Company (CBA) to establish its official representation in the country, enabling entry into the Brazilian arms market, both retail and wholesale. Together, the two companies aim for business opportunities also in the bidding market for the supply of their armaments.
CANiK has been producing the Turkish national duty pistol from 2018 onwards with its METE series pistols chambering the 9x19 mm round, the company is now expanding its operations to the public sector in Brazil, to gain more and more market share within the Public Security forces segment. Its mission is to offer modern technology pistols at advantageous prices for the Public Administration.
In December 2023, CANiK participated and offered the best price in the pistol procurement process of the State Secretariat of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration (SESP). This procurement project seeks to acquire 3,200 9x19 mm caliber pistols to meet the demand of the Penal Police Department / Security Operations Division. The bidding is underway, in the phase of presenting pistol certification. This procurement process will be an excellent first step for CANiK in the public sector.
CANiK’s competition pistols have gained popularity among athletes and sports shooters in southeastern Brazil, especially in the state of São Paulo. Exhibition events for CANiK products and equipment and competitions of IPSC - International Practical Shooting Confederation, held in the region, were crucial for demonstrating the high capacity of CANiK-made firearms, reinforcing the confidence and admiration of professionals in the sector. CANiK also won many “Handgun of the Year” awards by ICA since 2017, with models like TP9 SFx, TP9 Elite Combat, and TP9 Sub Elite, with SFx RIVAL being awarded Handgun of the Year award in 2022, and SFx RIVAL-S in 2023 for competition handguns, and METE MC9 winning the best concealed carry pistol of the year award in 2023.
The exceptional quality, superior performance, and accessibility of CANiK products have made the company stand out in a highly competitive market. Its solid reputation and continued pursuit of excellence has led CANiK to become an excellent choice with impeccable reputation not only among the military and Security Forces, but also among civilians who are looking for high-end weapons and accessories at a better price point. The company’s continuous efforts in research and development have resulted in increasingly advanced products, which are then adapted to the specific needs of the Brazilian market, with CANiK’s certified gunsmiths ensuring security and reliability for all CANiK owners, after the purchase of its guns, accessories, and / or parts and OEM parts for replacement or customization.
Despite seeming an accessible and diversified market, the Brazilian arms market has already gone through several instabilities in terms of quality and value. CANiK saw this as a valuable opportunity to equip Operators with a firearm truly capable of meeting all the needs of a shooter. However, to achieve this, it was necessary to have a line of armaments that could compete in value and quality, and TP9 SF family of pistols stood out among other offerings, which has several variations that compete with other brands in traditional and premium lines. The main ones are: TP9 SF Mod.2, SF ELITE, and SF SUB ELITE; these three models are classified in the category of full-size, compact size, and sub-compact respectively, and they are frequently used in personal defense by Security Operators and Sports Shooters.
Believing in defense and the expansion of practical shooting sports, CANiK decided to supply the market by delivering a standout firearm, tested and approved worldwide, with certification from the Brazilian Army and SENASP, the main arms standards existing in Brazil. CANiK’s excellent firearms have been winning awards wherever they go, a trend started with efficiency-based approach of the company. CANiK, with its representative CBA in Brazil, brings a new age to the cutting-edge technologies and makes them more accessible to all sport shooters and operators, who aspire reliability in their equipment.
