Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) and its world-famous firearms brand CANiK attended the SHOT Show, an American firearm-oriented expo held between 18-21 January this year, and the company enjoyed a great deal of attention. Many products from the company’s extensive line-up were showcased in the USA for the first time, and some even received pre-sales during the fair. CANiK M2 QCB heavy machine gun, chambering the .50 BMG round, was the most important among said pre-sales. The company also made the USA launch of its CANiK SFx RIVAL competition pistol and MECANIK brand optical sights in the fair.
SYS also launched an airsoft version of its CANiK TP9 Elite Combat model pistol, developed together with CYBERGUN, and received pre-sales for this product as well. The company hosted over 30,000 visitors in its booth.
With the meetings, an important step has been taken to export CANiK M2 QCB to Asia and South America. The expected next steps are the delegations visiting Türkiye to see and inspect the weapon and the production facilities, followed by pre-sales turning into sales contracts.
C. Utku Aral, General Manager at SYS shared the following on the developments: “SHOT Show is more of a hunting and marksmanship oriented fair rather than a defence oriented one. However, CANiK M2 QCB is a weapon with outstanding export potential. Furthermore, the delegations we met with during the show had been sharing that they wanted to see the weapon closely. As such, we utilised SHOT Show for this and showcased our weapon in the fair. The visitors paid a great deal of interest to this weapon and this interest quickly turned into pre-sales.”
Aral expressed the following regarding the export potential of the weapon: “12.7 mm calibre heavy machine guns are systems demanded by everyone but reached by the few. Only 4 companies in the entire world can produce this kind of firearm. Acquiring an export licence to sell them, however, may take 90 to 270 days at the very least, and when the USA’s ITAR restrictions are taken into account, sometimes that licence is impossible to acquire. No component of CANiK M2 is subject to ITAR restrictions, and as such, if our government gives us the green light, we are able to deliver the first units in 45 days.
Another matter that differentiates us from the rest is our weapon’s excellent performance. Most countries in the world utilises T.O.P. standard defined by the USA to accept 12.7 mm heavy machine guns into service. CANiK M2 QCB provides performance far surpassing the requirements set by that standard.”
The 6 mm airsoft version of TP9 Elite Combat was developed to stay true to the original and has most of the features of the real pistol. Such as:
The sale of the product will be done by SYS in countries the company has representation, and by CYBERGUN in others. Airsoft competitors will be able to find the pistol following April 2022 in CANiK and CYBERGUN official dealers. The pistol also comes with 3 different colours, black, FDE, and two-tone, just like the original.
The development process for airsoft versions of CANiK brand pistols commenced with the contract signed by SYS and CYBERGUN in SHOT Show 2020.
SFx RIVAL provides ergonomic comfort to its users with its specially designed new frame, beavertail, and trigger guard. The special aluminium trigger that breaks at 90 degrees and its new frame, designed around its mag-well, allows for rapid magazine changes, preventing time losses in competitions where every millisecond counts. The pistol is also equipped with an adjustable rear sight, providing competitors with everything they need out of the box. Moreover, the gun was designed with an aggressive look to attract attention. Finally, with its new frame design, the user can strip the pistol down to its smallest parts including the trigger group using a special tool named CANiK Punch.
MECANIK brand optical sights make a difference with their superior design and performance. For example, the users can operate the slide easily thanks to the Tactical Concave Face (TCF) feature. In addition, the sights come with strong mounting interfaces, in effect making them a part of the slide rather than just a simple accessory. As such, the users can operate the slide without being worried about damaging the optical sight. Likewise, the serrations on the sides of the sights increase the grip, making it easier to operate the slide.
MECANIK brand sights are equipped with Super LED technology with increased power efficiency, and they have an operational lifetime of 60,000 hours. These products are designed with feedback from expert shooters in various disciplines all around the world, and they are produced with highest technology for the best possible performance and reliability.
