Alperen Kıvılcım, who started shooting sport in the International Defense Pistol Association (IDPA) in January 2020, but made his first pistol shot with CANiK SFT in October 2018, drew attention with his first place in the 25, 15 and 10-meter slow-fire competition, in which 172 people participated, using the same pistol, in the match organized by CANiK in Istanbul Ataşehir on 22 December 2018.
Afterwards, Kıvılcım continued to enter such slow-fire competitions couple times a year and was introduced to IDPA matches in January 2020 with the efforts of Özcan Ceylan. Kıvılcım, who is 30 years old and has been involved in extreme sports for about 16 years, advises young shooters to follow their dreams if they want to embrace shooting sports.
Elite S Combat opened a new door
By saying that “In the beginning, I was only shooting as a hobby, until I took my first handgun, CANiK Elite S Combat, in my hands in August 2020… Afterwards, it started to go from being a hobby and turned into daily routine training, and as I put effort, it started to bring me success and degrees. I did my daily training routine without any interruption. I thought about the whole picture, not just shooting with the handgun.” He states that he achieved his goals one by one by focusing on functional, mental and various training techniques.
“We became a family with CANiK”
Kıvılcım stated that he was very happy to use the CANiK pistols for three years, and that even if he wasn’t in the CANiK Team, he would continue the competitions with the CANiK handgun that he won in his first competition and used very fondly. “I would like to summarize my cooperation with CANiK in a few sentences. I can say that it is a huge family in which I have never heard of the word ‘no’, a family that answers all my requests by going above and beyond, and thinks and resolves everything as much as possible, even without my asking. I hope that the CANiK family and I will achieve great things together. I hope that CANIK would say ‘our boy’ when talking about me, because I call them ‘our CANiK’ too.
