CANiK products conquer also France
CANiK has another representative office in France. Stating that CANiK has started to be recognized as the best Turkish pistols today as well as being a good and reliable brand, CEO of COLOMBI SPORTS
Saying that they cooperated with CANiK for reasons such as quality/price, interaction and service to adapt market demand, COLOMBI SPORTS Alexandre PELAGALLI says that CANiK is today recognized as the best Turkish handgun recognized in France.
Could you briefly tell us about yourself and your company?
Alexandre Pelagalli: Our company COLOMBI SPORTS is a family business and we’ve been involved in that market since 1987. COLOMBI SPORTS was established in 1958 and is based in the south of France. We are importer & distributor in hunting, shooting, law enforcement and outdoor leisure. We sell to retail stores or distributors mainly in France. But also have European customers.
How and when did your cooperation with Samsun Yurt Savunma (Canik) begin?
Alexandre Pelagalli: We discovered CANIK during a Show and started our first sample order end of 2016. It took 2 years to make the brand known by end users. CANiK gave us the opportunity to develop the French market with a good quality product and competitive price.
Could you tell us about the events you have held in 2021, and about the ones that you are planning to organize?
Alexandre Pelagalli: Unfortunately with the pandemic situation, all events were cancelled or postponed. The first event CANiK TOUR will be close to Paris in November 2021, and next one in the middle east close to LYON in December 2021. We have for now 5 Canik Tour confirmed for the season that will end in June 2022 (more details on www.caniktour.com). The important fact to note is that after several years of work, customers are calling us to be one of the partner for the tour when in the past we were calling them.
How is the ‘CANiK’ name perceived in your country, both as the CANiK brand and as a Turkish brand?
Alexandre Pelagalli: At the very beginning once we started CANIK brand in France, it was very hard to sell since it was not known. It has been and it’s still a lot of work for us to convince customers (retail stores) but also end users that the pistols manufactured by CANiK are completely fitting the demand in term of quality and price. This is the reason why we are doing lots of communication works and have created the CANiK TOUR event in 2018 (www.caniktour.com). This was a way for us to touch directly end users by trying the pistols in different shooting range in all France. The event was successful, the French press came and did several report in specialized magazines and on social media. I would say that CANiK was really born in 2018 in France. Since that time, we continue the event each year as we have the demand from retail stores. Today CANiK starts to be known as a good and reliable brand, and the best Turkish pistols.

With the RIVAL Pistol, this year, we entered in a new market for sport shooters, which gives more credit to the brand and a new dimension. We are gaining market shares everyday but there is still a long way to do when in front of us we have competitors represented here since several years.
