Leveraging its robust production capabilities and engineering expertise, AEI Systems stands out with its flagship product, the VENOM LR—a low-recoil, modular 30x113mm revolver cannon designed for seamless integration across modern platforms.

In this issue, we engage with Simon ANGEL, Managing Director of AEI Systems, to discuss the company's performance in 2024, growth projections for 2025, international exhibition plans, and its research and development roadmap. The interview also delves into the development journey of the VENOM LR and the strategic advantages brought by SYS Group’s integrated capabilities.

CANiK NEWS: Mr. Angel, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. How would you assess AEI Systems’ overall performance throughout 2024? Could you highlight key projects, strategic partnerships, or notable product deliveries from the year?

Simon ANGEL: AEI Systems' performance in 2024 should be viewed through the lens of new product design and development. While our sales turnover improved from 2023, reaching GBP 3.398 million, the most significant achievement was the advancement of the VENOM LR, which reached 95% completion for customer acceptance by the end of the year. Additionally, our 20mm Hispano range progressed well, with development completion and customer deliveries anticipated in 2025.

CANiK NEWS: The VENOM LR, with its "Superior Firepower with Minimal Recoil" vision, features a modular architecture and low-recoil design suitable for various platforms. What strategies are you employing to position this weapon system in both domestic and international markets?

Simon ANGEL: Our objective was to develop a product closely aligned with the M230LF specifications, the market leader in the 30x113mm segment. Achieving this would naturally facilitate market positioning. However, practical challenges arose, such as the need for a Remote Weapon Station (RWS) to transform the gun into an operational system. The acquisition by SYS and the development of the TRAKON mount by UNIROBOTICS were game-changers, enabling us to offer an integrated solution where we are the Design Authority and OEM for both the gun and mount. This integration enhances product quality and provides SYS Group with greater adaptability and supply chain control in a dynamic geopolitical landscape. Our sales and marketing efforts are primarily conducted from Istanbul, with support from Broadsword Consulting for UK market development...
