CANiK Proudly Enters Micro Compact Class with METE MC9
CANiK launched its first pistol in the micro compact category, the METE MC9, this past SHOT Show that was held January 17-20 in Las Vegas, NV. The Canik Mete MC9 combines the concealability of the micro compact class with superior features of the rest of the CANiK branded pistols, offering military forces, security forces, and civilian users’ effective firepower, along with comfort, ease of carrying, and a large magazine capacity.
CANiK entered the micro compact class with Mete MC9, after the company had established sub-compact models in both its TP9 and METE series pistols. From these, CANiK took first place in the concealed carry category at the 2020’s Industry Choice Awards (ICA) competition with its TP9 ELITE SC model. With the newest METE MC9, CANiK offers a pistol that is primed to receive its own awards. The Mete MC9 was developed to meet the users’ demands for a lighter, smaller, concealable pistol with features designed for proper control and manipulation of the platform. As a result of CANiK’s efforts, a pistol ideal for bodyguards and plain clothed security personnel was created.
High Capacity Meets Comfort and Ease of Carrying
Various demands of pistol users are met by different pistol classes like long-slide full-size, full-size, compact size, sub-compact, and micro compact. Micro compact class is the smallest of these, being even thinner than the sub-compact class.
The Mete MC9 has all the expected features of a micro compact class and more. The pistol’s mere 28 mm width ensures that its user can carry the pistol comfortably and without detection. The high-capacity magazine offered with Mete MC9, along with its comfortable use and ease of carrying, brings a significant advantage for missions where concealed carry is important.
The Mete series pistols can be disassembled to the smallest parts, including the trigger group, and reassembled very quickly, thanks to their special design. As such, their user can configure the pistol for his or her preferences without being in need of any professional help. The disassembly of the pistol is done with the included “CANiK Staple” tool.
The Mete MC9 Is Accurate
Smaller framed pistols traditionally must compromise on certain features in order to remain small. However, the Mete MC9 proves it is an exception. The design and engineering principles applied by CANiK ensures the Mete MC9 never has to compromise on performance.
All optical sights fit for Mete series pistols can easily be mounted on METE MC9 as well. The pistol also has a “co-witness” feature, allowing the use of both optical and iron sights at the same time. Thus, the shooter can quickly and easily engage the target.
The Two-Year Journey to Creating a New Standard
CANiK started development on the Mete MC9 in the first half of 2020. Quickly the company expended effort on materials, engineering, and design with various works to ensure the Mete MC9 would be a pistol that passes intense tests despite its compact and thin structure. With these efforts, CANiK redefined the performance standards of the micro compact class.
The pistol has the largest magazine capacity in its class, and the lowest barrel dispersion. CANiK’s world-famous trigger mechanism also is an instantly noticeable difference. The pistol has the trigger speed of a full-sized pistol in rapid shooting conditions, ensuring accurate and repeatable hits on the target even in a high stress environment.
