CANiK Informed Its Women Employees Against Disasters as a Part of Its International Women’s Day Activities
CANiK, which plans events that will make a difference with the joint work of the Human Resources and Corporate Communications Departments, went through a drastic change shifting its plans for the 8 March International Women’s Day; due to the major earthquake disaster in Türkiye.
CANiK Informed Its Women Employees Against Disasters as a Part of Its International Women’s Day Activities
CANiK, which plans events that will make a difference with the joint work of the Human Resources and Corporate Communications Departments, went through a drastic change shifting its plans for the 8 March International Women’s Day; due to the major earthquake disaster in Türkiye. CANiK’s women employees were given special training to become self-aware them against disaster situations and to help protect them and their loved ones in case of a potential disaster.
The motto of the joint The joint training program planned by both the Human Resources and Corporate Communications Departments of CANiK was set as “We will both stay strong and continue carrying out our responsibilities for our colleagues in this disaster management process!”. Women employees of the company became much more prepared and aware of disasters with the Disaster Awareness Training provided by İsmail Dut, Director of CANiK Academy. The training was held on 24 February for the women working in CANiK’s Istanbul office and on 25 February for the working at the company’s Samsun facilities. CANiK also designed a special gift for the training.
Detailed information on pre-disaster preparations, correct behaviour during disasters, first response after disasters, the required contents of a first aid kit, emergency plans and strategy, evacuation plans and procedures, and basic first aid procedures were provided during the training.
A Success Story
Gençay Gençer, Corporate Communication, Business Development, and Brand Management Manager of CANiK has shared the following on the training: “This disaster has shown us clearly that we are not knowledgeable enough. And yet, we still do not know how we should act in certain situations. As such, we held comprehensive training against all kinds of disasters, not just against earthquakes.”
Selen Akar, an employee at CANiK gave her thoughts as follows: “CANiK once again proved that it is always stands with its employees and always thinks the best for them and their families.
