We are leaving behind a period that Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) and its global brand CANiK enjoyed immense success and had many critical developments. You will find details regarding all these developments on this 4th issue of CANiK News. What makes this issue special is my late father Cahit Aral, who laid the foundation of SYS’ and CANiK’s success, being the cover story for this issue, along with the news and developments that give us hope and inspiration. This is issue an issue where we present all our friends that we “Write the Future with the Strength and Inspiration from the Past”.
The export success we achieve with our global brand CANiK carries us ever higher in Turkish Exporter Assembly’s data and lists. According to 2021 export data, we were the largest exporter in the small arms category of Türkiye and entered top 10 in defense and aerospace sector, placing our company among the greats in Turkish defense industry. In addition, we were among the 6 largest small arms manufacturers in global markets.
We have successfully completed the qualification tests of our CANiK M2 QCB 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, which will enable us to increase the success we have achieved so far, in front of the Defence Industry Agency officials and end users in the past months. As such, CANiK M2 QCB became a product that passed the toughest qualification tests in the world by a large margin, with flying colors. We are sure that soon CANiK M2 QCB will be the first choice for the whole world and achieve greater success.
Behind all our successes lies the legacy of my late father Cahit Aral, an engineer and industrialist, as he served our country through the ages in his career, starting as an engineer with firsts and patents, being an industrialist later and even making his way to being the Minister of Industry and Trade. He taught us, his children, “How to be a good person, how to be a good engineer, and how to be a good industrialist”. Established and developed by applying what we learned from him, CANiK brand, to which we have brought innovations with the desire for continuous progress we see from my father, continues its way with great success. I commemorate my late father once again before you, dear reader, and I thank him for his legacy.
The attention we enjoy ever since CANiK News was first published motivates us to go even further. I wholeheartedly thank all our readers and stakeholders. In this issue, we will present special sections that became a tradition as well as our fair participations and the successes we achieve with our CANiK brand.
