CANiK Exports to 69 Countries, Iraq Being the Last
CANiK M2 QCB 12.7 mm heavy machine gun developed by Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) under the CANiK brand entered the inventory of Iraqi Central Government institutions in May 2022. Therefore, Iraq became the 69th country in the world to prefer CANiK brand.

Didem Aral, SYS Foreign Trade Manager and Member of the Board of Directors, remarked the following on their exports to Iraq: “While we are continuing to carry our CANiK brand to every corner of the world, we also maintain close contact with neighboring countries. We have been proceeding negotiations with the Iraqi Government, whose defense expenditures is in rise, for a long time. The quality and performance of CANiK M2 QCB 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, which we introduced last year, was also approved by the Iraqi authorities.
The Iraqi Central Government has a large amount of worn-out M2 anti-aircraft guns in its inventory. The issue of their renewal or modernization has long been on the agenda of the government. We regard being taken the inventory of this country as a considerable achievement for our country and brand. It was also a great advantage for Iraq to be able to procure this gun from Türkiye which is demanded highly. We have also launched negotiations for new orders to be placed in the upcoming period. Our negotiations regarding the sale of pistols in the civilian market is still in progress. We believe that the Turkish defense industry as being the rising value of the world and the confidence in CANiK-delivered products will ensure that Iraq's defense expenditures are directed towards our country."
CANiK M2 QCB 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, produced as a result of high technology R&D and engineering efforts, draws attention with its superior performance. With an effective range of 1850 meters, CANiK M2 QCB can be effective up to 6000 meters if used with the right fire control systems. Previously exported to Togo, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Kuwait; CANiK M2 QCB can be used for all kinds of fire support missions. It can be integrated on all platforms which are in the inventory of land, sea, air, and special operation units of all friendly and allied countries, as well as the Turkish Armed Forces.
