CANiK NEWS: Where does FireMind 101 stand within the training vision of CANiK ACADEMY?
Dr. İsmail DUT: FireMind 101 is essentially a first-step resource prepared for entry-level users. Its purpose is to introduce individuals to the conscious use of firearms and to instill the fundamentals of a safety culture. Rather than being a purely academic textbook, it is a practical guide that emphasizes responsibility and awareness.This work also marks an important milestone in the future vision of CANiK ACADEMY. In the coming years, we plan to expand with new book series tailored to different levels and to publish content internationally, thereby building a broader knowledge network.
CANiK NEWS: You highlight the phrase “Firearm safety begins with training, but continues with awareness.” What do you mean by this?
Dr. İsmail DUT: Firearm safety cannot be reduced to technical skills alone; the key is sustaining those skills through awareness. For the individual, this means ensuring both personal safety and the safety of those around them. From a societal perspective, it represents the development of shared reflexes toward safety. The message I want readers to take away is that carrying a firearm is not a privilege, but a responsibility that must be exercised with full consciousness.
