UNIROBOTICS: Pioneering Technological Integration
As a subsidiary of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) Group, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defence industry, UNIROBOTICS continues its integration efforts for land and sea platforms with its advanced technologies and innovative solutions. The company has garnered global attention with its unmanned systems and AI-supported technologies.
SYS Group – UNIROBOTICS General Manager Ömür BAÇ shared the company’s current activities and future plans with CANiK NEWS readers.
CANiK NEWS: You collaborate with companies like HAVELSAN and DEARSAN Shipyard. Will new companies join this partnership?
Ömür BAÇ : We initially began working with HAVELSAN’s naval systems division and integrated the TARGAN close-defence weapon system into the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) project. Subsequently, we started integrating our TRAKON Lite remote-controlled weapon turret with HAVELSAN’s unmanned ground vehicles team, completing this process in 2024. Additionally,
we integrated TRAKON Lite into DEARSAN Shipyard’s SALVO unmanned surface vehicle. In parallel, we are conducting integration efforts for armored land vehicles with various domestic companies. We actively participate in exhibitions, which have significantly increased demand from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. We are currently in the demo phase with companies in these regions and aim to complete these processes by early 2025, transitioning to the delivery phase.
CANiK NEWS: Eurosatory 2024 in Paris brought significant attention to your products, leading to agreements and strategic partnerships. What are your future plans regarding this interest?
Ömür BAÇ: SYS Group participates in 20–25 fairs and events annually. Initial contacts made at the first fair often turn into concrete steps at the next. For example, at Eurosatory, we showcased our systems and engaged with numerous end users, meeting them again at subsequent fairs. We understand that defence industry projects are long-term undertakings; our products require detailed and time-intensive processes in both production and sales. At Eurosatory, we strengthened our existing relationships and signed several goodwill agreements and contracts. Consequently, our business development activities have accelerated in many countries.
With UNIROBOTICS initiating the production of remote-controlled weapon turrets, we also began the integration processes with unmanned vehicles. At fairs, we observed the impact of these integrations. By collaborating on new technologies, we are enhancing our ability to adapt to vehicles and systems used in combat zones. Seeing this flexibility and success brings us great satisfaction…
